Remote Sensing of Photosynthesis and Plant Physiology

Our group focused on the development of non-invasive technology that report on the physiology of the plant as a whole. We therefore track information embedded in fluorescence emission from the photosynthetic apparatus of plants, signal processing of reflected light and image analysis and computer vision of the crops. The group obtains professionals from different areas of science - Plant biologists, Data Scientists and Remote Sensing specialists. Together we address the following questions: How does the photosynthetic apparatus respond to a-biotic stresses such as high temperature and drought? What are the molecular mechanisms involved in this response? Are the current agriculture practices tailored to a specific crop are the best in terms of fertilization and water quantities?
